PLANT

Hi, I'm Bria.

My love for plants didn't begin with a nursery or a gardening class. It began with a man named Jim.

I started out just walking his golden retriever, Sophie. Over time, Jim and his wife Becky brought me into their lives in a bigger way, and I ended up spending my afternoons with him in the garden. I watered their plants every day, and I'd hand him his tools while he trimmed his bonsai trees  slow, careful, precise, like he was performing surgery. He didn't say much. He didn't have to. I watched him build a fountain from scratch, shape trees that had been growing for decades, and turn ordinary plants into something that felt alive in a whole new way.

Somewhere in those months, I realized how healing it actually is to take care of something living. Watching a plant respond to patience, to the right light, to just being paid attention to it settled something in me. It still does.

Jim passed away last April after a long fight with cancer, and every plant I grow now carries a little bit of what he taught me.

That's where Bria's Planties really started.

With love,
Bria 💚🌱
